Kavaklıdere Winery, Turkey's first and oldest private sector wine producer, was established in Ankara in 1929 by Cenap And. It has continuously progressed over the years to become Turkey's preeminent wine producer.
Kavaklıdere Winery, celebrating its 76th anniversary by 2005, has been carrying on wine production in Ankara-Akyurt Plant since 1987 and Nevşehir-Kapadokya Plant since 2003. The storage capacity has increased to 17,5 million liters by 2005 and Kavaklıdere is proud to have a product range consisting of 32 different kinds of wines including grape juices. The winery exports %20 of its total production to the EU, Japan and United States where it has distributors. The Kavaklıdere Europe. Co in Belgium directly exports to Germany, Hollland, France and England. Through the principle of producing "Anatolian Wine from Anatolian Grapes" Kavaklıdere Winery has taken it upon itself to promote indigenous noble and new grape varieties suitable for wine production, and has won more than 390 medals in domestic and international competitions in 76 years.
The winery follows a mission of “consistent and high qualified standard” by improving its technology, increasing its production and the supporting the vineyard owners theoretically and technically. Kavaklıdere Winery, in addition to rank at top as a wine producer, leads the way in national cultural activities as well. In order to contribute in development and promotion of wine culture in Turkey, the winery has been organizing “Kavaklıdere Vintage Trips”, "Wine Tasting Seminars”, wine education seminars “ABC’of Wine” and has been publishing wine magazin “Karaf” and wine and culture issue “Şarapçılık Dosyası” taking the winelovers to the world of wine which requires self-sacrifice and labor.
Kavaklıdere Winery, founded by music and art loving businessman, Cenap And, contributes also in Turkish art,music and cultural activities for 76 years. The winery is the main sponsor of the respected festival held in Turkey, “International Ankara Music Festival” organized by the foundation of Sevda Cenap And.
